OUR STORY continued

Our story begins in Fall of 2021, while at a Harvest celebration with two of our favorite winemakers. One mentioned, in passing, that they had 4 extra barrels of exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon from a great Napa Valley AVA, from the excellent 2018 vintage that did not fit into their program. They needed to find a home for the wine as room in the cellar was short due to new barrels coming in soon for the 2021 harvest. This had been the norm lately with great winemakers looking to find homes for their wines as many fine restaurants and hotels business had slowed due to the past year and a half.  Although she mentioned this “en passant”, we looked at it as an opportunity to procure some amazing wine while helping friends. As my fiancé and I got more excited about making our first Napa Valley Cabernet, When an opportunity arises, you can either pass on it, or as in the great game of Chess' En Passant rule, you can move forward and capture it all in that one move!
